Dr. Steven Shepard is the founder of the Shepard Communications Group in Williston, Vermont, co-founder of the Executive Crash Course Company, and founder of Shepard Images. A professional author, photographer and educator with more than 30 years of experience in the technology industry, he has written books and articles on a wide variety of topics.
Dr. Shepard specializes in international issues in technology strategy, with an emphasis on the social, geopolitical, economic, and competitive implications of technological change. He has written and directed more than 40 videos and films, and written and produced technical presentations, white papers, Podcasts, speeches and articles on a broad range of topics for companies and organizations worldwide. He has written and photographed in more than 90 countries, serving clients across many different industries including telecommunications, IT, media, advertising, healthcare, transportation, government, software development, education, professional services, NGOs, venture capital, and regulatory.
Andy has served in a variety of volunteer community service positions, most recently having been named State Chairman for the presidential campaign of Ohio Governor John Kasich. He recently finished service as Chairman of the Greater Jackson (MS) Chamber Partnership, and was named by Governor Phil Bryant in 2014 as Co-Chairman of the Mississippi Department of Corrections Task Force on Contract Review and Procurement, to provide advice and recommendations for restoring public confidence and trust in the operations of state government in the wake of public corruption charges. Andy is also a gubernatorial appointee to the Mississippi Judicial Appointments Advisory Committee.
A frequent speaker at major events, Andy has offered the Summer Commencement address at Mississippi College, and was named an Otho Smith Fellow by the University of Mississippi School of Business Administration. He has been named a Leading Edge Lecturer by the Mississippi Universities Center, and was selected as Spring Commencement speaker at Belhaven College.
Steve Gleave is the Senior Vice President of Marketing Communications at cloud-native communications software provider, Metaswitch. In this role, Steve evangelizes Metaswitch’s role in the development of commercial and open-source software solutions that are constructively disrupting the way that service providers build, scale, innovate and account for communication services. A recognized leader in helping many North American operators transform their voice networks from TDM to IP, Metaswitch is now working with progressive service providers on what might be their most significant technology pivot yet: the move to private, public and hybrid clouds.
Steve has spent his entire career in the communications industry. Born and graduating in the UK, Steve has spent the last 20 years, living, working and unsuccessfully rehabilitating his accent in the USA. Along the way he has become passionate about the heritage, heroes and hope that characterizes so much of Telco Americana, the practicalities of new technology adoption, the separation of hype from reality and learning from history, not just social media.
